How to Configure a Software Update Point for Internet-Based Client Connections

Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

If a Configuration Manager 2007 software update point will support Internet-based clients, you must configure the software update point with one of the following options:

  • Configure the active software update point to accept connections from client computers from the intranet and Internet

  • Configure the active software update point to accept connections from clients on the intranet, and configure an active Internet-based software update point to accept connections from clients on the Internet.
