Application Center 2000 Global Assembly Driver
With the release of the .NET Framework Global Assembly Cache (GAC) driver, Application Center 2000 now offers the benefits of scale-out to .NET applications including application deployment and synchronization, on-demand scalability, and application monitoring. It is very difficult to predict load for .NET applications and Web services; consequently, the ability of Application Center to easily increase an application's capacity by adding commodity servers is a crucial part of any .NET deployment.
Now using Application Center, an enterprise can manage its Web sites, COM+ applications, and even Web services using the same tools, greatly simplifying the move to .NET.
Note: The Global Assembly Cache Driver is already included in Service Pack 2. Installations that are already updated to Service Pack 2 require no other changes to have this functionality.
