How to Update Virtual Server on a Host

Occasionally the version of Virtual Server that is installed on a host needs to be upgraded to be compatible with System Center Virtual Machine Manager (VMM). You can verify the update-ready status by using any of the following methods:

  • If you select a host in Hosts view, the Update Virtual Server action will be active in the Actions pane, and the Virtualization software status in the Summary tab in the results pane will display Needs update.
  • If you click the Status tab of the Host Properties dialog box, the Upgrade property in the Virtualization software status area will display Needs update.

To update Virtual Server on a host

  1. In Hosts view, navigate to the host group that contains the host, and then select the host in the results pane.

  2. In the Actions pane, click Update Virtual Server.
