How to Add and Remove Self-Service Web Servers

After installing the Virtual Machine Manager Self-Service Portal on a Web server, you must identify the Web server in Virtual Machine Manager. Web servers are specified by using the Manage self-service Web servers action in Administration view.

How to add a self-service Web server

  1. In Administration view, click Self-Service in the navigation pane, and then, in the Actions pane, click Manage self-service Web servers.

  2. In the Manage Self-Service Web Servers dialog box, click Add. Then enter the computer name of the Web server in the format server.contoso.com, and click OK.

How to remove self-service Web server

  1. In Administration view, click Self-Service in the navigation pane, and then, in the Actions pane, click Manage self-service Web servers.

  2. In the Manage Self-Service Web Servers dialog box, select the Web server that is no longer used in virtual machine self-service, and click Remove.

    The Web server is no longer known to Virtual Machine Manager. However, removing the Web server does not uninstall the Self-Service Web Portal.
