Distributing updates

Applies to: Forefront Security for SharePoint

Topic Last Modified: 2007-12-07

The most common method of distributing updates is to have one server (the “hub”) receive updates from the Microsoft HTTP server and then share those updates among the rest of the servers in your environment (the “spokes”). After the hub receives an engine update, it can share that update with any other server whose network update path points to it. For more information about distributing updates, see the "File scanner updating" chapter of the "Microsoft Forefront Security for SharePoint User Guide".
