System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2007 is a generation ahead of DPM 2006. DPM 2007 is the new standard in application-integrated continuous data protection. DPM provides unmatched application backup functionality and reliable, near-zero data loss application recovery. DPM 2007 includes the following features:
Tape-based backup and archive solutions
Protection of:
Exchange Server 2003 SP2 and Exchange Server 2007
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 SP4, SQL Server 2005 SP1, or SQL Server 2005 SP2
Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

Important
Before you deploy DPM 2007 on Windows Server 2008 you must install Knowledge Base article 950082 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=116285).
Files on workstations and laptops running Windows XP Professional SP2 and all Windows Vista Editions except the Home Edition.
Note
The workstations and laptops that DPM protects must remain connected to the corporate local area network (LAN).
