Changes from DPM 2006
Applies To: System Center Data Protection Manager 2007
Some of the miscellaneous changes you will notice in DPM 2007 are as follows:
DPM 2007 cannot protect file servers running Windows Server 2000.
Synchronization frequency is increased from hourly to every 15 minutes.
Network bandwidth usage throttling is configured at the protected computer level in DPM 2007, rather than at the protection group level. In addition, you can specify different network bandwidth usage throttling rates for work hours, non-work hours, and weekends, and you can define the times for each of those categories.
The subject line of notification e-mail has been condensed to be more easily read on handheld devices.
DPM can use a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server that requires authentication.
