Identify stakeholders

Updated: 2009-04-30

After your goals are defined, identify the people who will be affected. We recommend that you include your contributors in your planning. Provide them with the list of performance management goals and business activities and solicit feedback from them.

First, identify all business activities that will be affected by your PerformancePoint Planning implementation. Examples of affected business activities include:

  • Planning, budgeting, and forecasting

  • Subsidiary-level and corporate reporting

  • Management and executive reporting

  • Workflow management and processes

Then, based on these activities, determine the contributors. The people involved in these business activities could include (but are not limited to):

  • Financial analysts

  • Business analysts

  • Forecasting or sales individual contributors

  • Controller

  • IT specialists and administrators, including:

    • Microsoft SQL Server database administrators

    • SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services administrators

    • Security administrators

    • Active Directory service administrators

    • IT architects
