PerformancePoint Planning is designed for a variety of business workers throughout your company who are involved in finance, management, sales, marketing, manufacturing, and human resources work. They can use Planning Server, Planning Business Modeler, and PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel as a suite of applications to:

  • Develop objectives and goals (planning)

  • Allocate resources (budgeting)

  • Forecast results to plan (forecasting)

Planning is designed for the following types of customers:

The Modeler needs consistency and control of his data. This person wants to reduce errors, make quick and accurate decisions, and create an accurate financial picture for budgeting and forecasting. As a result, this person wants easy access to data and an easy way to update the financial picture when things change.

The Contributor wants to be ahead of the competition. This person wants quick access to information and an easy way to enter data.
