Granting users permissions to access the Planning Server application database

This information only applies to operational reporting and not to any other part of Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007.

You must configure access permissions to the SQL Server database that serves as the Planning Server application database. This procedure must be performed for all application databases for which operational reports will be generated.

We recommend that you create a SQL Server role that has permissions to the following tables, views, and stored procedures within the application database. These objects are used to provide data for the operational reports.

Note

You may use the server identity account for reporting. If the server identity account is used for reporting, then explicit permission on the tables, views, and stored procedures is not required. For information on granting user permissions on the SQL Server application database, see SQL Server Books Online.

Select permission is required on tables and views. Execute permission is required on stored procedures.
