Automating index maintenance by using scripts

If you have a regularly maintenance time, use this time to rebuild your index offline. If you do not have a regularly scheduled maintenance time, schedule a job to monitor and defragment your indexes during off-peak time.
Write a script to monitor the index fragmentation status and have it set to automatically run the index rebuild or reorganize jobs if the fragmentation is over the limit that you have specified.
Automatically reorganize or rebuild all partitions in a database by running a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 script periodically.
