Open and connect to the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel

Use the following procedures to open and connect to Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 from the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel.

Open the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel

  1. Open Microsoft Office Excel.

  2. View the PerformancePoint menu in Office Excel.

    Note

    When you first log on to PerformancePoint Server from a client computer, it can take some time for the client computer to download all the necessary metadata and retrieve a form from the server.

Connect to PerformancePoint Server

  1. Ensure that you are a valid user in PerformancePoint Server and that you have network access to successfully connect to PerformancePoint Server.

  2. On the client computer in Office Excel, click the PerformancePoint menu, and then click Connect. The Configure PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel dialog box opens.

  3. In the PerformancePoint Server system dialog box, type the address of the server to which you want to connect followed by colon. Next, type the port that is used to connect to the server. Contact your administrator if you do not know either the correct address of the computer that is running PerformancePoint Server or the correct port number.

  4. Click OK.

  5. PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel tries to connect to the specified server. If the logon is successful, the Action Page window opens.
