FW_H_ProtApplyFilter

To apply an application filter to a protocol

  1. In the console tree of ISA Server Management, click Firewall Policy.

  2. On the Toolbox tab, click Protocols.

  3. Expand the appropriate folder, and then select the applicable protocol. On the toolbar beneath Protocols, click Edit.

  4. On the Parameters tab, in Application Filters, select the filters to apply to the protocol.

Note

To open ISA Server Management, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Server Management.
For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Arrays, expand Array_Name, and then click Firewall Policy.
For ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition, expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand Server_Name, and then click Firewall Policy.

Important

When you apply an application filter, that filter will perform additional filtering functionality.
When you disable an application filter that typically applies to a protocol, you disable all application filter functionality. For example, by disabling the Web Proxy Filter for the HTTP protocol, you disable all caching and proxying for that protocol.
After you click Apply in the details pane, the policy is updated. The new policy applies only to new connections.
