Configuring VPN authentication methods

[This topic is pre-release documentation and is subject to change in future releases. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]

To configure VPN authentication methods

  1. In the Forefront TMG Management console tree, click Virtual Private Networks (VPN).

  2. On the Tasks tab, click Select Authentication Methods.

  3. On the Authentication tab, select the appropriate check boxes for the authentication protocols that Forefront TMG will use to authenticate remote VPN clients and remote VPN gateways (if configured).

Important

For remote networks, the authentication method that you select is the method that will be used when the remote VPN gateway initiates a connection to the Forefront TMG computer.

Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) users are authenticated by RADIUS servers. Firewall policy rules that apply to users will only be applied to these users if you also configure the user mapping feature.
