Configuring VMM System Settings

The configuration of Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) system settings is optional depending on the needs of your environment. This topic describes the systemwide settings, which you can modify by using the Settings node in Administration view.

System Setting Description

Customer Experience Improvement Program Settings

Joins or withdraws you from the optional Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP).

Library Settings

Modifies the frequency of automatic library refreshes, or cancels scheduled refreshes.

Placement Settings

Sets defaults for calculating host ratings during virtual machine placement.

Reporting Settings

Enables reporting in VMM after deploying the Server Virtualization Management Pack in System Center Operations Manager 2007.

Self-Service Settings

Specifies the administrative contact for self-service users to send e-mail messages if they have a question or issue.

VMRC Settings

Assigns the port for accessing virtual machines via the Virtual Machine Remote Control (VMRC) client, and optionally specifies VMRC access accounts to grant administrators access to new virtual machines.
