Overview of Administration Tasks and Tools

Software Update Service provides two SharePoint sites to administer Software Update Service:

  • The Management Console is a Web-based console hosted on Software Update Service that runs on Office Communications Server. Use the Management Console to manage updates for your organization, configure your test devices, and configure settings for Software Update Service.

  • The Update Site on the SharePoint Service provides a data store that contain configuration information such as the file storage host name, Windows Server Update Service information, and the duration of log folders.
