Overview of the Archiving and CDR Server

Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 will reach end of support on January 9, 2018. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.

The Archiving and CDR Server provides the following capabilities:

  • Archiving of all instant messaging (IM) conversations for all users or for individual users that you specify.

  • Archiving of call detail records for all users.

Messages from the Office Communications Server Front End Server are sent through the Windows ServerĀ® Message Queuing service to the Archiving and CDR Server, which uses a Microsoft SQL ServerĀ® database to store archived information.
