How to run DPM Administrator Console

To use DPM Administrator Console, you must be logged on to a DPM server with an account that has Administrative or Backup Operator rights on that server. Only one user can be logged on to DPM Administrator Console at a time.

To open DPM Administrator Console locally

  • On the Start menu, click All Programs, and then click Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2006.

  • Double-click the Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2006 icon on the desktop.

You can also run DPM Administrator Console by using Remote Desktop Connection.

To open DPM Administrator Console by using Remote Desktop Connection

  1. On the Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click Remote Desktop Connection.

  2. In the Remote Desktop Connection dialog box, type the name of the Data Protection Manager computer in the Computer box, and then click Connect.

  3. In the Log On to Windows dialog box, type your login information, logging on under an account that has administrative rights on the Data Protection Manager computer, and then click OK.

  4. On the Start menu, click All Programs, and then click Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2006.
