How to subscribe to notifications

You can configure DPM to notify you by e-mail when critical, warning, or informational alerts are generated.

Note

Before you can subscribe to notifications, you must configure the SMTP server that DPM will use to send the notifications.

To subscribe to notifications

  1. In DPM Administrator Console, on the Action menu, click Options.

    The Options dialog box is displayed.

  2. On the Notifications tab, take the following steps:

    • Select the types of alerts about which you want recipients to be notified: critical alerts, warning alerts, informational alerts, or any combination these.

    • Under Recipients, type the e-mail address of each person to whom you want DPM to send copies of the notifications. Use semicolons to separate the e-mail addresses.

  3. To test the notification settings, click Send Test Notification.

  4. Click OK.
