Restoring a DPM Server

Published : September 27, 2005

To rebuild a DPM server in case of disaster, you must first restore the operating system, system state, and applications (including DPM and its dependencies), after which you can restore the DPM databases and then restore the replicas.

For more information on restoring a server, see Microsoft TechNet article “Disaster Recovery” (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=51980).

Note

In the case of a disaster in which only some of the DPM-required files are lost, you must restore the volumes with the system files for DPM, SQL Server, and SQL Server Reporting Services, and then restore the DPM databases and replicas.
