Determine Whether You Should Install the Out of Band Service Point

Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007

Install an out of band service point in the Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 site if both of the following conditions apply:

  • You want to manage computers out of band that are assigned to the site, and all the prerequisites for the feature are met. For a list of prerequisites, see Prerequisites for Out of Band Management.

  • The site is configured as a primary site and does not already have the out of band service point role installed.
