Securing SMS Clients

Managed computers, or SMS clients, make up the largest part of the SMS environment. The SMS client software is installed on each by using one of several installation methods. During installation, each client receives a globally unique identifier (GUID). The following section describes the different client installation methods, the risks and benefits associated with each installation method, the risks associated with having duplicate GUIDs in an SMS environment, and how to mitigate these potential risks.
