Deploying the MBSA Management Pack

After importing the MBSA Management Pack, additional configuration is required to:

  • Set up a file transfer server

  • Configure the MBSA Management Pack

  • Configure Global settings in MOM 2005 with the file transfer server address. Agents use this address to download updated versions of the MSSecure.cab file.

If you are using the MOM 2005 Workgroup Edition, then configuration for using this Management Pack is slightly different (see "Setup and Configuration for MOM 2005 Workgroup Edition" later in this guide).

This section includes an overview of how the MBSA Management Pack works and also includes detailed instructions on setup, including manually updating the MSSecure.cab file, configuring exceptions, customizing monitoring of MBSA events, and setting up reporting.
