About MOM 2005 SP1

This service pack can be used to perform the following tasks:

  • Update an existing MOM 2005 installation.

  • Install MOM 2005 SP1 in its entirety as a new installation.

  • Upgrade a MOM 2000 SP1 configuration to MOM 2005 SP1.

There are some known issues with MOM 2005 when it is installed on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 with SP1. Most of these issues are related to changes in Windows Server 2003 SP1.

The following issues, which are described in detail in KB Article 898921, are resolved in MOM 2005 SP1:

  • In the MOM server-related issues section, issue number 2.

    Issue number 1 is resolved in some instances. If Windows Server 2003 SP1 is installed before MOM, this issue does not exist. However, if an existing MOM 2005 or MOM 2005 SP1 server is upgraded to Windows Server 2003 SP1, this issue still exists.
