Installation on Clients Running Windows 2000 or Later
SMS 2003 provides full Remote Tools support for clients running Windows 2000 or later, both in Windows domains and in native mode or mixed mode Active Directory® domains.
On clients running Windows 2000 or later, SMS installs a virtual keyboard and mouse driver named KBSTUFF.sys. This driver functions as both the SMS Virtual Keyboard and the SMS Virtual Mouse. Because clients running Windows 2000 or later have a Plug and Play driver model, it is not necessary to restart the client after installation to have full Remote Tools functionality. To uninstall Remote Tools from a client running Windows XP, it is necessary to restart the client.
