Configurations Not Supported in MOM 2005 SP1

This section outlines items that are not supported by MOM 2005 SP1.

  • There is no support for any changes to the MOM Database or MOM Reporting Database schema.

  • There is no support for Alpha.

  • There is no support for Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6).

  • There is no support for bidirectional, complex script languages, such as Arabic or Hebrew.

  • There is no MUI release for MOM 2005 SP1.

  • There is no support for running MOM without the MOM 2005 SP1 Management Pack.

  • There is no support for multiple MOM Databases connected to a single MOM Reporting database or for multiple MOM Reporting databases connected to a single MOM Database.

  • There is no support for more than one MOM Reporting Database per management group.

  • There is no support for running Computer Discovery to install an agent on the same computer where you are running Computer Discovery.

  • There is no support for installing MOM 2000 SP1 agents after the MOM environment is upgraded to MOM 2005 SP1. MOM 2000 SP1 agents are only supported during the upgrade process. Agents on Windows NT 4.0 are not supported in MOM 2005 SP1. These agents must be uninstalled and these computers monitored agentlessly. There is no support for moving a MOM deployment from one domain to another. If this type of change is required, you must uninstall all the MOM components (for example, agents and management server) and then reinstall MOM on the new domain.
