Operations Tasks in the MBSA Management Pack

The MBSA Management Pack automates the process of updating the MSSecure.cab file and scanning agent computers. In addition to these regularly scheduled actions, you can manually run these tasks on targeted computers using the MOM Operator console.

To update the MSSecure.cab file on an agent computer:

  1. In the MOM Operator console, select the computer from one of the public views.

  2. In the Task pane, navigate to Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer.

  3. Click Download mssecure.cab from File Transfer server.

  4. Complete the task wizard.

To run the MBSA scan on an agent computer:

  1. In the MOM Operator console, select the computer from one of the public views.

  2. In the Task pane, navigate to Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer.

  3. Click Run MBSA Scan.

  4. Complete the task wizard.
