Backward Compatibility

• You should consider backward compatibility when developing a Management Pack in MOM 2005. After a Management Pack is imported into MOM 2005, this Management Pack cannot be imported in previous versions of MOM. Additionally, scripts developed in MOM 2005 might not function in previous versions of MOM because of script object changes in MOM 2005. Running these scripts on previous versions of MOM will result in script errors.

• If you are developing a Management Pack for multiple versions of MOM, first develop the Management Pack in MOM 2000, and then fork your development tree to support two versions of MOM.
