Plan for Backup

From a backup perspective, it is recommended that you prepare sites as follows:

  • Configure SMS so that the site's data and the backup destination path are on two separate physical drives. This ensures that the backup task runs faster because it reads the data that it is backing up from one drive and at the same time, it writes data to another drive.

  • While the backup task is running at the site, some site services are stopped, thus, data is not being processed. Therefore, plan for the site server to have adequate capacity to process the excess data after the backup cycle completes.
