Use this procedure to accept or reject a proposal in Project Web Access. After a proposal is created and proposed, it must be reviewed and then given a status of either Accepted or Rejected.

Before you perform this procedure, confirm that:

  • You have read the Work with proposals in Project Server 2007.

  • You must have the Proposal Workflow Tasks Web Part added to your Project Web Access home page. You need this component in order to receive proposal workflow tasks (such as reviewing a new proposal).

    Important

Membership in the Proposal Reviewers security group in Project Server, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. For automated (that is, workflow-enabled) proposals, members of the Proposal Reviewers group are automatically notified through the Proposal Workflow Tasks list.

To accept or reject a proposal

If you have multiple proposal reviewers, the order in which the proposal review occurs depends on the proposal workflow settings. The default settings for the Approval workflow allow the proposal to be reviewed serially. For example, a task assignment is sent to each reviewer in alphabetical order. When the first reviewer accepts or rejects the proposal, a task assignment to review the proposal is then sent to the next reviewer. You can also change the default setting for the Approval workflow so that proposal review tasks are all assigned in parallel. For more information about the Approval workflow site settings, see Use an Approval workflow (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=106113\&clcid=0x409) on Microsoft Office Online.

Accept or reject a proposal

  1. On the Project Web Access home page, in the Proposal Workflow Tasks list, click the proposal you need to review. Task titles for proposals needing review have "Please approve" included (for example, "Please approve proposal X").

  2. On the Proposal Workflow Tasks page for the specified proposal, in the Approval Requested section, in the Type comments to include with your response box, type any details that you want to include with your response.

  3. In the Approval Requested section:

    • Click Approve to approve the proposal.

    • Click Reject to reject the proposal.
