View usage summary for a site collection

Usage analysis processing helps content owners of site collections understand how their site is being used, and provides information to help them improve the effectiveness of their site. When advanced usage analysis processing is enabled, a daily schedule processes usage logs and provides the results to reports available from the site settings page of every site.
Site collection administrators can view a usage summary page that tracks the following information:
Amount of storage used by the site collection.
Percent of storage space used by Web Discussions.
Maximum storage space allowed.
Number of users for all sites in the hierarchy.
Total hits and recent bandwidth usage across all sites.
You can also view search query data in usage reports either from the top-level site in a site collection or from the Shared Services Administration Web site.
View usage summary for a site collection
Use this procedure to view usage summary for a site collection. Usage analysis and logging must be enabled before you can view usage information for a site. For more information, see Enable usage analysis processing (Office SharePoint Server).
View usage summary for a site collection
Open the Web site for which you want to view usage data.
On the Web site, on the Site Actions menu, click Modify All Site Settings.
On the Site Settings page, in the Site Collection Administration section, click Site collection usage reports.
You can view details of usage summary for a site collection on the Site Collection Usage Reports page.
