Before you perform this procedure, confirm that:

  • You have read the topic Manage personalization policies.

  • Your system is running either the Standard or Enterprise version of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

Important

Administrators must have access to the Shared Services Provider (SSP) administration site, and must have the Manage User Profiles permission enabled to complete this procedure.

Policies for user profile properties can only be replicated when the following settings are configured:

  • The default privacy setting is set to Everyone.

  • The User can override check box is cleared, so that the default setting cannot be changed by users.

  • The Replicable check box is selected, specifically configuring each property for replication.

After changing these settings, all properly configured properties will be replicated during the next profile import.

Use this procedure to replicate personalization policies for user profile properties.

Replicate policies for user profile properties

  1. On the Shared Services Administration home page, in the User profiles and My Sites section, click User profiles and properties.

  2. On the User Profiles and Properties page, in the User Profile Properties section, click View profile properties.

  3. On the View Profile Properties page, for each property that you want to replicate, click the property name, and then click Edit.

  4. On the Edit User Profile Property page, in the Policy Settings section, under Default privacy setting, click Everyone.

  5. Clear the User can override check box.

  6. Select the Replicable check box.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Return to the User Profiles and Properties page, and in the Profile and Import Settings section, click Start full import.
