This article contains links to resources that can help you plan and perform an upgrade from Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

Web content management, as implemented in Content Management Server 2002, is now fully integrated into Office SharePoint Server 2007. Office SharePoint Server 2007 includes features previously provided by Content Management Server 2002, including workflows, authentication, and Web authoring. Office SharePoint Server 2007 includes additional features that content managers can use, including integrated search, records management, RSS feeds, wikis, and the document management and site management features that Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 provides.

To successfully upgrade a Web content management solution based on Content Management Server 2002 (that is, a "channel") to one based on Office SharePoint Server 2007:

  1. Learn how the capabilities of your publishing solution based on Content Management Server 2002 map to the set of Office SharePoint Server 2007 capabilities.

  2. Carefully plan the migration.

  3. Prepare your publishing solution for migration.

  4. Perform the migration.

  5. Do post-migration testing and verification.

The following resources are available to help you plan, implement, and verify your migration from Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 to Office SharePoint Server 2007:
