Audits Node (Object Explorer)

This section contains the F1 Help for the creating and configuring auditing using Object Explorer in SQL Server Management Studio.

Auditing enables you track events on a SQL Server database server. You can use several methods of auditing for SQL Server, these methods are described in Auditing (Database Engine).

Beginning in SQL Server 2008 Enterprise, you can also set up automatic auditing using SQL Server Audit.

At the Audit node you can create one or more audit specifications that can be used for server and database audit specifications. The Server Audit Specification and Database Audit Specification provide specific information about the actions that you want to audit. For more information, see Understanding SQL Server Audit.
