Microsoft® Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 offers secure, fast, and manageable Internet connectivity. ISA Server 2004 integrates a sophisticated, application layer aware, multiple layer enterprise firewall and a high performance Web cache.

This release introduces multi-networking support, an easy-to-use and highly integrated virtual private networking configuration, extended and extensible user and authentication models, and improved management features, including configuration import and export. The ISA Server Enterprise Edition adds support of arrays, multiple arrays, Network Load Balancing (NLB), and Cache Array Routing Protocol (CARP). Because you can have more than one ISA Server computer in an array, you have the advantages of high availability, failover, and redundancy.
