Redirecting HTTP Requests as HTTPS

In this configuration, clients will request the site using HTTP, and ISA Server will redirect the requests over HTTPS to the external Web server. For example, if internal clients require access to a secure Web site belonging to Contoso.com at https://www.contoso.com/extranet, the client will request https://www.contoso.com/extranet, and ISA Server will establish a connection with https://www.contoso.com.

The external Web server authenticates to ISA Server using a server certificate. If clients are required to authenticate to the Web server, the client certificate is installed on the ISA Server computer.
