Manage CAL (User Account) Dialog Box

Use the Manage CAL dialog box to assign a client access license (CAL) for Windows EBS to a user account or to release the CAL so that it can be reassigned.

Note

The CAL assignment options that are available depend on the CAL packs that are installed and the number of CALs that you have assigned to other user accounts and to devices.

Settings

Item Description

None

Specifies that the user account can only access network resources by logging on to a licensed device. If a CAL was assigned to the user account, the CAL is released.

Standard Edition CAL

Assigns the user account a Standard Edition CAL, which permits access from any networked device to the standard network resources such as e-mail, shared folders, and print services.

Premium Edition CAL

Assigns the user account a Premium Edition CAL, which permits access from any networked device to the standard network resources and the Premium Technologies.
