Access the Administration Console Remotely

You can access the Windows EBS Management Server by Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) from anywhere in your network or from a remote computer that uses Remote Web Workplace. After you have established a remote connection to the Management Server, you can start the Windows EBS Administration Console.

To start the Administration Console

Click Start, click All Programs, click Windows Essential Business Server, and then click Windows Essential Business Server Administration Console.

You must have a supported version of the RDC client on your computer to connect remotely to the Management Server. For more information about installing the RDC client, see Install Remote Desktop Connection Client.

To connect to the Management Server by Remote Desktop Connection

  1. Log on to a client computer with an account that is a member of the Domain Users group.

  2. Start Remote Desktop Connection, and then in Computer, type the name of your Management Server.

  3. When prompted, type the name and password of your domain-administrator account.

To connect to the Management Server by Remote Web Workplace

  1. Log on to a client computer with an account that is a member of the Domain Users group.

  2. Start Internet Explorer on a client computer, and then type **https://**RemoteName, where RemoteName is the public domain name for Remote Web Workplace in your Windows EBS network (for example, remote.adventure-works.com). Your browser opens a page where you can log on to Remote Web Workplace.

  3. On the logon page, type the name and password of your domain-administrator account.

  4. On the home page, click Connect to Management Server.
