Introduction

The Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008 Fax Server Management Pack for Operations Manager 2005 collects the events that the Fax Service places in the Windows Server 2008 event logs. This management pack highlights events that might indicate possible service outages and configuration problems so that you can quickly take corrective or preventive actions. The Fax Server Management Pack alerts you to the following critical conditions:

• The Fax Server is unavailable.
• There is no valid Fax Service Provider available on the Fax Server.
• Incoming Routing is not working as configured.
• Outbound Routing is not working as configured.
• Fax Server configuration is incorrect or corrupt.
• The Fax Server is not logging any server activity.
• The Fax Server is not archiving faxes.
• The Fax Server is not sending delivery receipts.
• The Fax Server is not processing the queued faxes.
• There are no fax devices for the Fax Server to use.
