Scanning e-mail for malware during transport

The FPE transport scan runs on a computer running Exchange server that has either a Hub Transport or an Edge Transport role installed. The transport scan can scan all Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) and UUEncoded e-mail messages in the Transport stack of an Exchange site or organization. The transport scanner scans for malware in attachments and for embedded and HTML malware in the message body.
