Connecting to the Internet

Applies To: Windows SBS 2008

If your server is connected to the network, and the router is configured properly, the Internet connection is set up when you install Windows® Small Business Server 2008. For information about setting up your physical network and verifying your router setup, see the “Prepare Your Network” section in “Planning Your Windows Small Business 2008 Network” at the Microsoft Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/FWLink/?LinkID=115882).

You may need to run the Connect to the Internet Wizard to set up or to fix your Internet connection for any of the following reasons:

  • The Internet connection on your server was not set up successfully during installation.

  • You install a new router.

  • The Internet connection on your server is lost for any reason.

You must be a network administrator to complete this procedure.
