Build Customer Directory Integration

The Customer Directory Integration (CDI) feature is an optional component. In this section, there are three different Customer Directory Integration scenarios. The first two are mutually exclusive. However, you may install one of the first two in combination with the third. You may also install one of the first two alone, or the third alone. Consider installing CDI if you want to provide coordinated sign on and synchronization facilities for specific users in a designated customer organization.

See Build Outbound Manual Synchronization for deployment guidance. This scenario utilizes the Password Management Web Application (PMWA) to provide synchronization from the service provider shared Active Directory outbound to the Customer Directory. End users change their password by going to a Web site.

See Build Outbound Automatic Synchronization for deployment guidance. This scenario utilizes the Password Management Web Application to provide automatic synchronization from the service provider shared Active Directory outbound to the Customer Directory. End users change their password by going to a Web site.

See Build Inbound Automatic Synchronization for deployment guidance. This scenario utilizes the Password Change Notification Service to provide synchronization from the Customer Directory inbound to the service provider shared Active Directory. End users change their passwords by using using CTRL+ALT+DELETE in Microsoft Windows.
