The Microsoft Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory directory service to determine the value of the serialNumber attribute for all objects with an object class of msExchExchangeServer. The table below contains a key to the attribute values.

Value contains The computer is running

Version 5.5

Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5

Version 6.0

Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

Version 6.5

Microsoft Exchange Server 2003

Version 8.0

Microsoft Exchange Server 2007

If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that the target server is running Exchange Server 2003, the Exchange Server Analyzer then reads the following registry key to determine the value for the DisplayVersion subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{D48FD947-5581-4DCE-B1EB-87627C101D48}

The presence of this registry key means that the Exchange Server 2003 Auto Accept Agent is installed on the server. The value of the DisplayVersion subkey represents the version of the Auto Accept Agent installed.

The Auto Accept Agent is a store event sink that automatically processes meeting requests for resource mailboxes.

If the Exchange Server Analyzer determines that the version of Auto Accept Agent installed is less than version 6.5.7618.0, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning.

This warning means that the most current version of the Auto Accept Agent is not installed.

A software update for the Auto Accept Agent is available at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=28650.

For more information about Exchange Server 2003 and the Auto Accept Agent, see the "Auto Accept Agent Deployment and Administration Guide" (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=47565).
