Build ISA Server 2006

Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006 is a firewall and Web caching solution. This section provides information about using ISA Server 2006 to protect your environment in the Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration .

Topology

ISA Server is integrated with the Hosted Messaging and Collaboration solution in the following topology:

  • A firewall array (using two or more servers) with ISA Server services installed within a single workgroup outside the Fabrikam domain.
  • An ISA Server Configuration Storage server within the Fabrikam domain.
  • A stand-alone Certificate Authority (CA) that can be within Fabrikam domain.

Tasks Summary

  1. Build and Deploy the ISA Configuration Storage Server, ISACS01
  2. Install the ISA Configuration Storage Server and Configure the Firewall Array
  3. Install the ISA Server Firewall Servers and Add Them to the Array
  4. Configure the ISA Server 2006 Firewall Rules
  5. Move the ISACS01 Server into the ISA Server OU
