The Change and Configuration SMF describes the process for understanding and gaining control over the changes made in IT. CI and RFC data is collected and used in this process. Change requested are reviewed, approved, and implemented.

 The major processes described by the SMF are:

  • Configure baseline.
  • Initiate changes.
  • Classify changes.
  • Approve and schedule changes.
  • Develop, test, release, validate, and review changes.
