Problem Incoming and outgoing e-mail messages from Windows SharePoint Services cannot be configured.
Features affected Incoming and outgoing e-mail messages from Windows SharePoint Services to Exchange Server 2007 are affected. This includes e-mail alerts from document libraries and mail-enabled security groups that you want to archive in the Windows SharePoint Services document libraries.
Solution To resolve this issue, you must configure Windows SharePoint Services.
Click Start, click All Programs, click Administrative Tools, and then click SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration.
Click Incoming E-mail Settings, click Configure Incoming E-mail Settings, and then do the following:
Click Start, click All Programs, click Internet Explorer, and then, in the Internet Explorer address bar, type http://companyweb.
In the quick launch bar, in the Sites section, if there is an Archived E-Mails link, do the following:
Click Site Actions, click Create, and then click Sites and Workspaces.
On the New SharePoint Site page, enter the following information:
Click Create.
On the Set Up Group for this Site page, do the following:
In Administrator Tasks, click Outgoing e-mail settings, and then click Configure Outgoing E-Mail Settings.
Use the following settings: In Outbound SMTP server select SharepointSMTPServer; in From address type CompanyWebAdmin@<Domain>.local, where <Domain> is the name of your domain; in Reply-to address type CompanyWebAdmin@<Domain>.local, where <Domain> is the name of your domain; in Character set select 65001.
