Organizational units in Active Directory Domain Services cannot be created

Problem   The SBSComputers and SBSServers organization units (OUs) are not created in Active Directory.

Features affected   These OUs help manage computers and servers via the Windows SBS Console.

Solution   You must manually create the SBSComputers and the SBSServers OUs. One of the OUs may already exist.

Note

You must log on as a domain administrator to complete this procedure.

To create the SBSComputers and SBSServer organizational units

  1. Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

  2. In the User Account Control window, click Continue.

  3. In the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in, right-click <domainname>.local, and then click New organizational unit.

  4. In the New Object—Organizational Unit Wizard, type MyBusiness.

  5. Right-click MyBusiness, and then click New organizational unit.

  6. In the New Object—Organizational Unit Wizard, type Computers.

  7. Right-click Computers, and then click New organizational unit.

  8. In the New Object—Organizational Unit Wizard, type SBSComputers.

  9. Right-click Computers, and then click New organizational unit.

  10. In the New Object—Organizational Unit Wizard, type SBSServers.
