noteNote
Before you set up your Office Live Small Business Web sites, you must connect your server to the Internet and set up your Internet address. After you purchase and configure your Internet address, complete the Set up your Office Live Small Business Web sites task.

noteNote

To run the Set Up Your Office Live Small Business Web Sites Wizard
  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. On the navigation bar, click Shared Folder and Web Sites, and then click Web Sites.

  3. In Web Sites Tasks, click Set up your Microsoft Office Live Small Business Web sites. The Set Up Your Office Live Small Business Web Sites Wizard appears.

  4. Follow the instructions in the wizard to do following:

    Page Title Description

Choose a set up option wizard page

    • Sign up for a new account. Choose this option if you do not have an Office Live Small Business account.

      note
If your domain is not purchased through a participating domain name provider, then click Next to launch the Office Live Small Business sign up page. After you sign up for Office Live Small Business, return to this wizard and finish it.

    • Use an existing account. Select this option if you already have an Office Live account that you want to use to set up your Office Live Small Business account.

Do you want to redirect the Web site traffic from <DomainName> to your Office Live Small Business Web site? wizard page

This page is displayed only if your domain name is purchased through a participating domain name provider.

    • Redirect the Web site traffic from <DomainName> to my Office Live Small Business Web site. Choose this option if you want to redirect visitors from <DomainName> to your public Office Live Small Business Web site or if you do not have a public Web site. The DNS records change to redirect visitors to your public Web site, and your current Web site is no longer viewable on the Internet

      note
If you chose to create a new Office Live Small Business account, then click Next on this page to launch the Office Live Small Business sign up page. After you sign up for Office Live Small Business, return to this wizard and finish it.

    • Keep the Web site traffic at<DomainName>. Choose this option if you want to let visitors continue viewing your current Web site. The Web site traffic to <DomainName> will be maintained separately from your Office Live Small Business Web sites. If you decide later to redirect your Web site traffic, you can do so by following the step-by-step instructions in Manually redirect a domain to Office Live Small Business Web site.

Microsoft Office Live Small Business Web pages

    • On the Microsoft Office Live Small Business page, click the Sign Up Free button.

    • On the Sign up for Office Live Small Business Web page, to sign up for a new Office Live Small Business account, you can either use an existing Windows Live ID, or you can create a Windows Live ID by associating it with an existing e-mail address.

    note
The pages listed here are launched in an Internet browser. After you sign up for Office Live Small Business, close the Internet browser and return to the Set Up Your Office Live Small Business Web Sites Wizard to finish it.

Type your Windows Live ID wizard page

On this page, type your Windows Live ID and password that is associated with your Office Live Small Business account. This enables your server to configure your Office Live Small Business Web sites so that you can browse and manage them from the Windows SBS Console, Remote Web Workplace, and the Desktop Links gadget. If your domain name is managed by your server, and you chose to redirect your domain name traffic, then the DNS settings are automatically updated at your domain name provider's Web site.

  5. Follow the instructions to complete the wizard.

  6. After completing the wizard, verify that the following two Web sites are listed on the Web sites tab in the Office Live Small Business Web sites section: Business Web site and Business Applications Web site.

note
If you chose to redirect your Web site traffic, it can take up to 24 hours for changes to Web site redirection to take effect. You must run the “Update Office Live links on server” task 24 hours after you set up your Office Live Web sites. For step-by-step instructions about how to update the Office Live Small Business Web site links on your server, see Update Office Live Small Business Web site links on the server.
