Weekly Tasks for the Monitoring Pack for Configuration Manager 2007

In addition to the tasks that you perform daily, perform the following tasks on a weekly basis:

  • Review the reports. For a list of the reports included in the System Center Monitoring Pack for Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 (Converted), see the Reports for the Monitoring Pack for Configuration Manager 2007 section in this guide.

  • Review the past week’s alerts, events, server availability, configuration changes, and performance for potential problems and trends.

  • If needed, adjust the Operations Manager 2007 configuration settings, such as the Operations Manager 2007 agent heartbeat interval, alert settings, and database grooming parameters.

  • Review the backup history of Configuration Manager 2007 sites.

  • Review the backup history of the Operations Manager 2007 configuration group for Configuration Manager 2007.

  • Review the SQL Server database and log.

  • Run the Configuration Manager 2007 availability reports to get the availability of Configuration Manager 2007 servers and their roles.

  • Verify your Configuration Manager 2007 hierarchy by using the Configuration Manager 2007 Site Hierarchy Diagram.
