SCM 2 Available for Download
Now available for review and feedback: Security Compliance Manager 2.5 (SCM 2.5) Beta is available for download from Microsoft Connect! In addition to key features from the previous version, SCM 2.5 offers new Exchange Server 2007 and 2010 baselines. Join the beta review program to get an pre-release version and provide your feedback.
Version 2 of the Microsoft Security Compliance Manager tool was released on September 27, 2011! New and updated policy configurations and product baselines accompany this release—including Internet Explorer 9—with setting severity ratings.

About This Solution Accelerator
Microsoft Security Compliance Manager 2 (SCM 2) is a free tool from the Microsoft Solution Accelerators team that enables you to quickly configure and manage your computers, traditional datacenter, and private cloud using Group Policy and Microsoft® System Center Configuration Manager.
SCM 2 provides ready to deploy policies and DCM configuration packs that are tested and fully supported. These baselines are based on Microsoft Security Guide recommendations and industry best practices, allowing you to manage configuration drift, address compliance requirements, and reduce security threats.
Easily configure the latest Windows® operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and Internet Explorer with industry leading knowledge and fully supported tools.
Take advantage of SCM 2 to import the configuration of a “golden master” reference machine or existing Group Policy. Compare your standards to industry best practices, customize them using rich knowledge, and seamlessly create new policies and DCM configuration packs in the user-friendly UI designed to work with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2.

The Microsoft Security Compliance Manager download includes the following components:
- Microsoft_Security_Compliance_Manager_Setup.exe – The Microsoft Security Compliance Manager allows you to view, update, and export security baselines.
- LocalGPO.msi – This tool is designed to manage local group policies of a computer such as applying a security baseline and exporting the local Group Policy.
